Timberstone is situated in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside & is a great base to explore the surrounding area. The market town of Ludlow with its individual shops, farmmarkets & amazing array of pubs & restaurants is just 5 miles away.

The market town of Bridgnorth is approx 13 miles from Timberstone & is in the Severn valley with its wonderful steam railway which runs between Bridgnorth & Kidderminster with a few stops in between. Click on the link in the green box to plan a great day out!

Shropshire is not short of historical places to visit with castles, abbeys, priorys & roman cities all within an hour of Timberstone! click on the english heritage link to see just how much there is to see!  There are National Trust properties also, Berrington court & Croft Castle are within 30mins & the spectacular Powis castle is an hour away but a fab day out.

Ironbridge Gorge is around 40mins from Timberstone & is fascinating with its engineering history, museums & Blists Hill victorian town which is just like stepping back in time. A great day out!

Don't forget after you have had a good day out a pot of tea & biscuits will be waiting for you when you return & plenty of hot water if would like a long soak in a large bath before pre dinner drinks  & a delicious evening meal if you choose to dine in that evening! Ahh!! Or a good freshen up before heading off to one of the pubs or restaurants that we can recommend & even book a table at! There's plenty of choice, from pub to michelin star!

Ludlow also boasts two of the best food & drink festivals in the country. The first is the Ludlow Spring Festival. A simpler affair with the emphasis on real ale & bangers with some music & classic cars thrown in to the castle grounds in May. The secound is the original & the focus is on food & drink from local suppliers along with exhibitors from around the world & its a wonderful weekend.
